ED GLODZIK TOURNAMENT RULES

This tournament is run strictly by volunteers, which include Booster Club members, officials, clock and bookkeepers.  All of these people have donated their time to provide this wonderful opportunity for your players.  Please remember that!

Teams must provide their own basketballs for warm ups!

  1. If you cannot make your game due to the time/date scheduled it is considered a forfeit and WILL NOT be rescheduled.  PLEASE let Diahn Johnson know immediately, if this is the case, as we do not want to want anyone’s time (i.e. Officials, other teams, etc.)  In the event of bad weather, the West Rutland Booster Club reserves the right to postpone games and reschedule them as necessary.

  2. High school basketball rules apply with the following clarifications and exceptions:

  1. Quarters will be (6) minutes.  Games will consist of (4) quarters.

  2. Three (3) full sixty (60) second time outs will be allowed for each team.

  3. The time between halves will be (3) minutes.  The time between quarters will be (30) seconds.

  4. One three( 3) minute overtime will be given in case of a tie game.  The clock will run continuously, stopping only for time outs and foul shots.  One full sixty (60) second time out will be allowed for an overtime period.  A sudden death match will occur if game is tied after an overtime period.  First team to score WINS.

NO PROTESTS ARE ALLOWED THE OFFICIAL’S DECISION IS FINAL!

  1. Teams must check in with Diahn Johnson at the front table in the lobby (30) minutes BEFORE scheduled game time.  Starting lineups and player position must be available at check in.

  3. NO practicing or bouncing balls in the lobby, hallways or sidelines at any time.  As teams prepare for their game to start and are on the player side of the gym, Teams will not be permitted to shoot baskets or bounce balls before their scheduled game as it is extremely disruptive to the game in progress.

  4. All players MUST be pre-registered to play in the game. A player that was not listed on the team invitation roster will NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.

  5. Players and coaches will be the ONLY people on the sidelines! No family or friends allowed.  Seating for these guests are provided on the other side of the gymnasium.

  6. No one is allowed on the court.  Please notify parents and fans that they must wait for their children in the lobby area after the game.

  7. Coaches are responsible for your team.  Families are responsible for their children. Children must be with an adult at all times and will not be allowed to hang out in the lobby, hallways or outside of the school!

  8. After your team has finished your game, please clean up your bench area of all water/Gatorade bottles, clothing, backpacks, etc. as quickly as possible. Garbage cans/bags are provided throughout the gymnasium and lobby to throw away any trash.  Please exit the gym, or if staying to watch additional games, go to the bleachers designated for spectators.

  9. Food and beverages are allowed in the gym.  Garbage bags are tied to the railings for any trash.  Please clean up after yourselves so that we can continue this privilege!!!

We would appreciate your support: All teams and spectators must exit the gymnasium immediately following the last game of the evening.  This is not the time for players and spectators to play basketball.  Booster Club members and volunteers have a lot of clean up to take care of The West Rutland Booster Club will not be responsible for any belongings!
