Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 29, 2017
10:00 am

Ceremony, Music, and Free Barbecue to Follow at American Legion

Attention: Students of West Rutland
You are invited to participate in this year's Memorial Day Parade

Ways to participate:
Decorate your bike and ride it in the parade
Walk and cheer by being a member of the "spirit squad" sporting your red, white and blue
Wear your school or rec. uniform and walk as a member of the baseball/softball teams
Come to the parade and support your community (make sure you grab a flag along the parade route to waive)

Line up at the Price Chopper parking lot between 9:30 am and 9:45 am
Parade Route: Begin at Westway Plaza, west on Main Street to Marble Street, Marble Street to Barnes Street, Barnes Street to the cemeteries, Main Street to the West Rutland School, ending at the Westway Plaza

Congratulations WRS Art Student

On Thursday, May 11, 2017 the Rutland Herald reported students from Rutland County were recognized at the 36th annual Congressional Art Competition with Choice Awards.

Congratulations to WRS sophomore, Matthew Harte for being recognized for his piece "Chickadee"!

Students submit entries to their U. S. representatives office and local artists in each district select the winning entries for the nationwide high school Congressional Art Competition. Matthew Harte's piece along with two other students from Rutland County will be displayed for one year in the tunnel that connects the three House Office Buildings to the U. S. Capitol.

Warning-Town of West Rutland School District

The legal voters of the Town of West Rutland School District are hereby warned to meet at the West Rutland Town Hall in said town on May 1, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. to discuss Article 1.

At close of business, the moderator shall recess the meeting until May 2, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall, 35 Marble Street, West Rutland, to vote by Australian Ballot on the following matters to wit:

 1.    Shall the voter of the Town of West Rutland School District approve the school board to expend $5,569,563 which is the            amount the school board has determined to be necessary for the ensuing fiscal year?
        It is estimated that this proposed budget, if approved, will result in education spending of $15,325.97 per equalized pupil.             This projected spending per equalized pupil is 7.85% higher than spending fro the current year.
